Biography

Takumi Kato continues his practice and presentations while examining the properties and uses of materials and techniques centered on painting, together with their cultural and historical contexts.

Taking material-historical research across different periods and regions up to the present as a point of departure, he applies these insights to contemporary practice, developing a body of work that reconsiders what it means for humans to “make” and to “pass down” things.
